Support What you Value
I approach the ‘print media is dead’ idea with a firm grasp of reality and a level head. Yes, it’s leaving the building but it’s shaking everyone’s hand on the way out. Many print media ad people are ending up online and they know me and I them. It’s still a community, their just in different locations and I see value in supporting them as they make tremendous moves in their lives.
Why am I bringing print media up again? Well I just had a client walk in who values art, film and print media. We just designed his entire brand around that. He relates to those clients who, (like him), enjoy the arts and have a similar fun and flamboyant way about them. They become friends and fans of each other. His fold over business cards are keepers and well loved. I mean it – l.o.v.e.d
So he insists, and I have to agree, on supporting small theaters and festival by ad buying in their print materials. Oh sure we’ll purchase the online version of these ads as well. Yes, I agree that 80% of the eyeballs are online. I simply see value in supporting your message in many ways while at the same time supporting the community offering the vehicle in which to deliver the message.
The ship called Print Advertising is going to sink but since it hasn’t even left the dock yet. I think I’m going to board it with a helicopter as my getaway plan to deliver me to the safety of the internet shores where I have my clients sitting.
I see value in offering expert experience in ALL media markets.
